He was born in September 1901 as Sjoerd Kuipers (= Coopers) in the country village of Tolbert, municipality Leek, in the southwestern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen, son of the 30 years aged shopkeeper Enne Kuipers and Elske Boonstra.

On 16 May 1910 the nine years aged Sjoerd Kuiper arrived with his father Enne Kuiper (38, farm laborer), his mother Elske (31), his siblings Christiaan (10), Lambert (7), Lenze (6), Sake (3), Douwe (2) and Tetje (3 months) on the SS Rotterdam at the port of New York, Ellis Island. Their last residence place in the Netherlands was Tolbert and their destination is Highland, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana, where a brother-in-law of his father, Dru??? v/d Wande (?), is living.

George Kuiper married the four years younger Rena Scheeringa, also born in the western part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen.

They had the following children Kuiper:
* Andrew, b. 07 Oct 1924, Lake County, Indiana;
* Gracie, b. Lake County, Indiana;
* William Richard, b. Lake County, Indiana;
* Ronald Ralph, b. 05 Aug 1935, Highland, Lake County, Indiana;
* Larry, b. Highland, Lake County, Indiana.

In 1930 George Kuipers (28, Holland, immigrated in 1910), his wife Rena (24, Holland, immigrated in 1912), their son Andrew (5, Indiana) and daughter Grace E (3, Indiana) were living in Highland, Lake County, Indiana.

In April 1940 George Kuiper (38, working at an automobile plant, masking? jaxxxx rails), his wife Rena (34), their children Andrew (15), Grace (13), Billie (6, Indiana), Ronald (4, Indiana) and Larry (0, Indiana) were living at a rented farm in Highland Town, North Township, Lake County, Indiana. They lived in 1935 in the same house.

George Kuipers died in December 1968 at the age of 67 years in Gary, Lake County, Indiana. His widow Rena died in November 1991 at the age of 86 years.
