Helen Irene (DeWater) Morton, 87, died Oct. 4, 2015, at her home. She was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Wichita, to Charles Curtis and Nora Rosetta (Stancer) DeWater.

Helen was a daycare provider and homemaker. She was a member of Victorious Life Church. On Aug. 26, 1961, she married Max Morton in Wichita. He died Jan. 9, 2005. Survivors include: daughter, Katrina Karanu (Allan); son, Bobby Morton (Karla); sisters, Virginia West and Martha Francis, all of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Max; daughters, Judy K. Hale, Marsha Burns, Joanna Stephenson; sons, Eddie Morton, Larry Eugene McHenry, and Kenneth Wayne Helliker; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Victorious Life Church, 1200 E. 10th, Hutchinson, with Pastor James Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 5 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Victorious Life Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS
