Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Ocheyedan for Geert Riemersma, 67, who died in his home directly north of Ocheyedan, Friday afternoon of last week.
Services were conducted in the Christian Reform church in Ocheyedan with the Rev. N. Fokkens, present pastor, delivering a message in the English language The Rev. A. Wassink of Inwood, a former pastor in Ocheyedan, gave a sermon in the Holland language. Burial was made in the Ocheyedan cemetery.
Riemersma was born in the Netherlands. The family first moved to Ocheyedan in 1913; later moving to Worthington. Six years ago, the family returned to Ocheyedan where the permanent home was established.
A wife and eight children, all grown, are members of the immediate family.
