Early Life: Maridean was born on January 14, 1933, in Mount Pleasant, Utah, to Alma Ellison and Florence Jensen Taylor. Maridean attended North Sanpete High School and later went back to school to receive her GED.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On June 1, 1949, she married the love of her life, Francis Smith "Smitty" Johansen, in Mount Pleasant, Utah. They were sealed in the Manti Utah Temple on November 30, 1960. Together they had three children. She became a professional seamstress and made many suits for her husband and outfits for cheerleaders. She was a very accomplished and talented seamstress. Later in life, she became a postmaster at the Orangeville Post Office and also worked in Moroni with turkey processing. Her greatest job was being a homemaker to her family. Maridean loved to cook and garden. She especially loved her family and really enjoyed gathering at family reunions. She was a compassionate person who quietly served others in need. She is a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved helping at the church bazaars and many other church events. After her husband passed away, she served a mission for the Church in Missouri. For the last 2½ years, Maridean has been married to Marion Woodmansee. Maridean Joyce Taylor Johansen passed away on September 25, 2015, in Payson, Utah. She was 82.
Survived By: Her husband, Marion; her daughter, Vickie (Jim) Kline; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers: R.L Taylor and Larry Taylor.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Francis "Smitty;" her children: Francis Butch Johansen, Valerie Johansen; her parents; her grandson, Jeremiah Kline; and brothers: Owen and Melvin Stewart.
