Douglas B. Baum, 56, of Hamburg, formerly of York, died at 5:25 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2002, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

No viewing. Following cremation at White Rose Crematorium, services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Eddie D.D. Miller.

Mr. Baum was born Sept. 11, 1946, in York.

Mr. Baum worked at CAT Inc., in the parts department for 15 years.

He later worked as an LPN at Lebanon VA Hospital. He was employed by Kuzans Hardware in Hamburg as a mechanic.

He was a graduate of William Penn High School, Class of 1964.

He attended York College and RACC School of Nursing.

He was a professional musician with Dick Heisler Trio.

He was sergeant of arms of Musicians Union. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany.

He was a member of the York Jaycees from 1970 to 1976.

He was an Eagle Scout at Grace United Methodist Church and he was a Boy Scout leader.

He was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church and a former member of East York Optimist Club.

Mr. Baum also is survived by one daughter, of Newark, Del.; one son, of Red Lion; one sister, of York; two nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Diehl.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York 17403.

Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc., 849 E. Market St., is in charge of arrangements.
