Minnie Askren, the eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Char. Askren of near corydon died Monday morning at 9:30 of typhoid fever. The child, who was spending the summer with her sister, Mrs. Talmage Shaffer, (correction:Zelma Schaffer wife of Talmage) was sick but nine days and her death came as a great shock to her relatives and friends. The funeral was held at Heidelberg Tuesday at 2 o'clock. conducted by Rev. M.C. Patterson. Besides her parents she is survived by four brothers John WJ. of Illinois, Daniel E, Smith K., and Andrew A., of this county and two sisters, Gladys Askren and Mrs. Talmage Shaffer (correction: Schaffer), also of this county.
