GROVERTOWN -- Essie F. Alcock, 94, of Indiana 23, died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday in Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton. Mrs. Alcock was born Sept. 3, 1898, in Caro, Mich., coming to Grovertown 67 years ago from South Bend. On Jan. 13, 1917, in Lapeer, Mich., she married Samuel R. Alcock. He died March 8, 1969. Surviving are a daughter, Bernice Gray of Millington, Mich.; a son, Ralph of Port Richey, Fla.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Ellen, and a grandson, George, preceded her in death. She was a member of Hamlet United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Philathia Class of Hamlet, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Millington, Mich., and a former member of Blue Star Mothers.
There will be no services or visitation. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Camelot Care Center Piano Fund, Logansport, Ind.
