HAMLET--Services for Ellen I. Keller, 67, former Hamlet correspondent for The Tribune, who died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday in Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hamlet United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Keller, of County Road 500 North, covered Hamlet-area news and the Starke County Fair for The Tribune for more than 20 years. She also reported for the Plymouth Pilot-News.
Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, and one hour before services Saturday in the church.
Mrs. Keller was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Columbiaville, Mich. She had lived in Hamlet for most of her life. On Oct. 16, 1938, in Hamlet, she married George Bud Keller. He died Dec. 22, 1961. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Seese of Grovertown and Judith Wydau of Shelbyville, Ind.; a son, George S. of Hamlet; five grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Gray of Millington, Mich.; a brother, Ralph Alcock of Port Richey, Fla.; and her mother, Essie Alcock of Grovertown. She was a member of the Hamlet United Methodist Church, Philethia Class of the church, United Methodist Women and Friendly Neighbors Club and was a former member of the Starke County Choir.
