Lillie June Smith was born to William Alva "Alvie" Smith and Blanche Valda Lucas.

Her parents separated when Lillie was very young, she was raised by her mother and stepfather Allen McFadyen.

Lillie June had three siblings from her Mother, and stepfather: Robert Allen McFadyen, Elsie Virginia McFadyen, and Anna Jean Craig.

She also had eight half siblings she never got to know from her Father, and his wife: Laree Connely, Rosella Rice, Georgia Fern "Patricia" Owenby, Alla Alice Schmidlin, Daisy Irene Phelen, James Dale Smith, Alma Willa Dean Watts, and Richard Leroy Smith.

Lillie June was first married to William Everett Sawyers together they had six children: Laura June Farris, Everett Allen Sawyers, Valda Irene Wheeler, Richard Lee Sawyers, Jack Edward Sawyers, and Charyl Ann Assad.

Lillie June later married Lloyd Frank Kobel, together they had one son Frank Kobel.
