A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995, in the Fuiten-Rose Funeral Chapel in Forest Grove, followed by interment in Buxton Cemetery. A reception will follow at the family residence at 47580 N.W. Sunset Highway in Manning.

Mrs. Schmidlin died of cancer Sept. 16 at age 62. She was born July 14, 1933, in Carthage, Mo. Her maiden name was Smith. She married Joe T. Schmidlin on June 12, 1969. Mrs. Schmidlin refinished antique furniture before opening her own business, Alla Country Crafts, in Manning in 1987. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vernonia.

Survivors are her husband; sons, Timothy J. Schmidlin of Banks and James E. Belk of Buxton; daughter, Kathy N. Kadow of Ocean Park, Wash.; mother, Martha Smith of Buxton; brothers, James Smith and Richard Smith, both of Buxton; sisters, Rose Rice of Scappoose, Daisy Phelin of Firebaugh, Calif., and Dean Watts of Vernonia; and six grandchildren.
