Birthdate in obituary and birth year on his stone are wrong. Ernest was born Morgan Ernest Warner on Sept. 25, 1897 per his birth record. The 1900 census also lists his birthdate as Sep. 1897.

Ernest Warner, 54, of 2422 Little Street, a painter and decorator here for 34 years, died Monday in Port Huron Hospital after an illness of two years. He was born, Nov. 25, 1894 in Melvin. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Marjorie Warner, four daughters, Mrs. John Pickelhaupt, Mrs. Paul Hernandy, Mrs. Shirley Wright. And Mrs. Bruce Oliver, all of Port Huron; four sisters Mrs. Leslie Graham, and Mrs. James Woodruff both of Croswell, Mrs. Charles Weidenbach, Port Huron, and Mrs. Epsey, Owosso, two brothers Grover Warner and Milton Warner, both of Port Huron, and 10 grandchildren. The remains are in the Arthur Smith Funeral home where the funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Otto H. Pfotvohaner, pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery. Resource-Port Huron Times Herald March 30, 1949
