Death of Mrs. Gourley
Mrs. Mary A. Gourley, wife of Christopher Gourley, died Sunday morning at 7:30 o'clock at the home of her son, George, on Monroe Street, from gall stones.
Mrs. Gourley had returned home last Thursday from a visit with her son, Lawrence, at Anderson. Friday evening she went to the home of her son, George, where she was taken suddenly ill, and was unable to be removed to her home.
Deceased was aged fifty-nine years and five months. She had been in poor health for some time. She is survived by her husband and six children, Clarence, Lawrence, C. C. Jr., Mrs. Mattie Simpson and Mrs. Minnie Deer of Greenwood, and George.
Deceased had long been a member of the Christian Church and a member of the Woman's Relief Corp.
The funeral will take place at the home on South Hougham Street at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Woman's Relief Corp will conduct their ritualistic service.
Burial at Greenlawn.
