MACHESNEY PARK - Jean Long , 80, of Machesney Park died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Feb. 8, 1921, in Terre Haute, Ind., daughter of C.O. and Ica Smith Harris. Married William H. Long on May 22, 1939, in Centerville, Iowa. She retired from Warner Lambert Co. Member of Riverside Community Church. Jean enjoyed bowling, crocheting and the outdoors. She attended Rockford Central High School. Survivors include daughter, Joy (Mike) McLean of Roscoe sons Gerald (Beverly Grimes) Long of Ashton and Jay (Linda) Long of Arlington, Tenn. and grandchildren Candace Hines, Sandra Goodman, and Todd, Scott and William Long. Predeceased by parents. Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with Dr. William Richard Kerr Sr., pastor of Riverside Community Church, officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
