Eula M. Smith
Eula Marie (Harris) Smith, 98, Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Sept 23, 2007, at Countryside Manor. She was born Aug 16, 1909 in Paris, Ill and had lived in Anderson since 1928.
She was employed in production at Delco Remy for 40 years before retiring in 1969.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and United Auto Workers Local 662.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Emil "Bud" Smith of Anderson, whom she married Aug 7, 1954, in Anderson; son, James W. Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Don Chambers; sister, Joyce Nowacki; four grandchildren, Michelle Helterbrand, James W. Jr. and wife Peggy Smith, Jacinda and husband Jim Taylor, Amanda and husband Tony Jones; great-grandchildren, Brandon and wife Samantha Smith, Alyssa Taylor, Logan Jones and Olivia Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Ova Harris; stepfather and mother, Grover and Maude Pate; brother, Wilbur T. Harris; and an infant daughter.
Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place with burial in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
