MARSHALL -- Services for Elmer G. Lee, 69, of Marshall will be at 3 p.m. today at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation at the church will begin one hour prior to services.
Mr. Lee died Wednesday, March 31, 1993, at Weiner Memorial Medical Center in Marshall.
He was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Herman, Minn., to Henry and Freda (Rhem) Lee. He was baptized at First English Lutheran church, and entered the U.S. Army in 1943 where he was stationed in Europe and awarded a Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
Connie Semans and he were married Aug. 27, 1948, in Long Prairie. They lived in northern Minnesota for a short time before moving to Marshall 52 years ago. He was a truck driver for Floyd Wild Trucking for 25 years, retiring in January 1986. His hobbies included fishing, camping and playing cards. He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, the Marshall VFW and American Legion posts and the Disabled American Veterans organization.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael of Redfield, S.D., and Russell of Marshall; four grandchildren; six brothers, Vernon, Sylvester and Merl, all of Marshall, Kenny of Vesta, Lyle of Slayton and Edmund of Philpsburg, Mont.; and a sister, Fern Harpestad of Blue Earth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and one sister.
