Blanche Gail Kester peacefully passed away on May 19, 2015 at her home on Riverside Road, Caldwell, with her son (Cecil), daughter (Theresa), and extended family by her side.

Gail was born April 13, 1924 at Gate, Oklahoma, to Samuel and Maude (Eells) Bowers. In 1935, she moved with her family from Gate, Oklahoma to Homedale, Idaho escaping the Dust Bowl at that time. The family ended up settling on Riverside Road, Caldwell Idaho.

In January 1947 she married Sherman Clifford Kester, of Cambridge, Idaho, and resided in Cambridge at that time, caring for Frederick Kester. In 1950 Gail moved to the Silver Valley in Northern Idaho when Sherman went to work for the Sunshine Mine. The first winter there they lived on Big Creek above the Sunshine mine in a wall tent that had a wood cook stove and a wooden floor. After that they lived in Osburn and Kellogg (Elizabeth Park and Big Creek) where she lived about two miles from where she spent her first winter there.

Gail moved back to the family property on Riverside Road, Caldwell, ID after Sherman was killed in the Sunshine Mine Disaster on 2 May 1972, where she resided until her death.

Gail is survived by two children: son, Cecil (Pam) Kester, of Kuna, and daughter, Theresa (Trent) Smith, of Boise; four grandchildren: Sherman Leon Kester, Rodney Kester, Travis Knarr and Tyler Knarr; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Harold, Roland and Leland (Buddy) Bowers, all of Caldwell.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman; son, Terry; her parents, Samuel and Maude Bowers; three sisters: Coetta Keith, Leah Cunningham and Sibyl Sevy; and three brothers: Melvin, Junior and Bobby Bowers.

Gail was loved by all and was known to all as "Aunt Gail", she also loved all. She will be very much missed.

A special "Thank You" to her Nieces, Nephews, and the Brothers and Sisters of the Followers Of Christ Church who helped and took care of her these many years.

Mom, go with God and be with God.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27th at the Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge, Idaho. A pot luck luncheon will follow at the Cambridge Fair Grounds.
