Bobby Ray Bowers, 72, of Caldwell, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at home of natural causes.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15th at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery, Marsing. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Bobby was born January 15, 1941 to Sam and Maude Eells Bowers. He was the youngest of 10 children, 4 girls and 6 boys.
Bob grew up around the Marsing area and worked at various jobs growing up. His jobs consisted of weeding onions, hoeing sugar beets, stacking baled hay for some area farmers and he started bucking spuds when he was fourteen years old.
Bob entered the U.S. Army in February of 1960 and served for two years. After his discharge from the Army, he married Janice Smith and to this union was born six kids, Lyle, Anissa, Benji, Ryan, Blaine and Katie.
Bob was a truck driver for most of his working years, driving tanker trucks for the last 25 years, hauling gas, diesel and stove oil until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, his parents, three sisters, two brothers and his daughter, Anissa.
Surviving are his five children, Lyle, Benji, Ryan and his wife, Karen, Blaine and his wife, Heather and Katie; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Autumn, Brady, Kaylea, Paige, Owen, Jory and Jacob. He is also survived by a sister, Gail Kester and three brothers, Harold, Roland and Buddy.
Bob was a member of the Followers of Christ Church.
