*Why The Name Neville"
This is being included along with record citations as an individual questions his name.
Records: William Neville - Christening, Marriage, Census, Citizenship and Death Certificate all recorded name as William Neville. The exception to this is when his is listed on the 1841 and 1851 Census with his family.
On the 1881 Census his brother John, along with William and his wife Elizabeth are residing with a relative of their mother. John is listed as John Stiff, Willian and Elizabeth are recorded as Neville. All records from that point on list him as William Neville. William and Elizabeth's children were all given the name of Neville.
When William and Elizabeth left England, each of their living children came with them. When they set sail from Liverpool on 10 April 1880 all family members were listed on the ship log under the name of Neville.
