Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Willard Cook Tingey, passed away May 18, 1998.

He was born February 17, 1914 in Woodruff, Utah, to Thomas Josiah Tingey and Rowena Cook Tingey. He married Marr Cornia in the Salt Lake Temple on May 20, 1938. He attended South Rich High School and Weber State College.He worked as a city dispatcher for a truck company. Willard and his wife, Marr, were tour guides and traveled to many parts of the world. He was very active in the LDS Church serving as a Bishop, Bishops' Councilor, Stake Sunday School, High Councilman and was called as the Liberty Stake Patriarch 31 years ago. He served a mission to New Zealand and became very fluent with the Maori language and kept a life long friendship with many Hawaiian and Maori friends. Also served a four year mission to the Salt Lake County Jail.

He is survived by his loving wife Marr; sons: Blaine (Barbara), Carey, ID; Glen (Rosemary), Riverheights; Steven (RuthAnn), South Jordan; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, also three special New Zealand daughters; Rona (Jack) Minton, Marg (Floyd) Galloway, of Salt Lake, Diane Haworth, of New Zealand.

Funeral Service will be Friday, May 22, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at the Liberty Ward Chapel, 418 Harvard Ave. Family and friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Thursday May 21, from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service at the ward. Interment Woodruff Cemetery, Woodruff, UT.
