Murray, UT-Wilford Gunther Erichsen, age 76, passed away August 25, 2013 in Murray, Utah. He was born on November 6, 1936 in Hamburg, Germany to Ludwig Adolph Peter Erichsen and Emilie Frieda Sophie Wehrhahn. He married Solange Barbosa on July 23, 2004.
Having emigrated from Germany in 1955 he fell in love with the natural beauty of Utah and the western United States. Wilford was an avid cross country skier, lifelong soccer player and coach and all around outdoorsman; he felt closest to God in nature.
Wilford is survived by: his wife Solange Erichsen; his children, Andreas and Lisa Kohler, Susan and Kevin Potter, David and Cathy Erichsen, Janyce Erichsen Jones, Robert Erichsen and Jeff Kilmer, Daniel Erichsen and Cassie Espinoza, and Tony Rocha; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Anne-Lisea, Peter, Herbert, Ewald, Marion, Marita, Hannelore, and Susan. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ludwig and Emilie; his sisters, Lutzi, Ruth and Hildegarde; brothers, Ludwig, Fritz, Helmut and Konrad.
A memorial service for the family will be held at Silver Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon (one of his favorite places) on Wednesday, August 28th at 7:00 am. Online condolences [email protected]

Wilford Erichsen was marrried 02 November 1956 to JoAnn Black at Salt Lake City, Utah.(later divorced). They had five children; Susan Erichsen, David Erichsen, Janyce Erichsen, Robert Erichsen and Daniel Erichsen.
