ANTON SCHEMCHAK

Anton (Shammy) Schemchak, 63, of 1519 Madison St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, with military graveside rites by
Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 of the American Legion.
Mr. Schemchak was born Aug. 24, 1898, at Manitowoc, son of the late Martin and Lena Mrotek Schemchak. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in an anti-aircraft
unit and was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co., retiring in 1961.
Mr. Schemchak was a bowling and baseball enthusiast, a member of Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 of the American Legion, Machinists Local 516, Eagles Aerie No. 706 and the 25-year Club at Mirro.
Survivors include a brother, Charles H. of Manitowoc, four sisters, Mrs. Boniface T. Mrotek, Mrs. Joseph V. Peterson, Mrs. George Wilfer and Mrs. Burtt Smith of Manitowoc and several nieces and nephews. Four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
