Martin Shemchak (sic), 78, of 1519 Madison street, died yesterday afternoon at the Holy Family hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Shimek and Schwartz funeral home and at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The Rev. John S. Landowski will officiate with burial in Calvary cemetery.

Mr. Shemchak (sic) was born in Germany in 1868 and came to this country at the age of two. He married Miss Lena Mrotek 57 years ago, and she died 15 years ago. The Shemchaks (sic) always made their home in Manitowoc.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. John Pionek, Mrs. Boniface Mrotek, Mrs. Josephine O’Brien, Mrs. Irene Zankle and Mrs. Bert Smith, all of Manitowoc; three sons, John, Anton, and Charles of Manitowoc and 10 grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. Sunday, and the friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. this evening until time of services Monday.
