Julia Adeline Arts was the daughter of Henry Arts and Augusta C. Gauthier Arts. She married Augustus Lang. Their children were Mary Catherine, Florence C., Loretta B., Ida J., Callista T., Matthew J. and Grace Lang.

AUGUST LANG DIES THURSDAY NIGHT Mrs. Julia Arts Lang, wife of August Lang, 534 North First street, who had been in failing health the past three years, died at her home at 8 o'clock Thursday night. Death was due to complications and general age debility. A year or two ago she suffered an apoplectic stroke and had been diabetic for some time. Julie Arts was born at Sinsinawa, Wis., July 13, 1864. She came to Marshall county with her parents in 1884. She was married to August Lang, at Haverhill, Oct 10, 1888. Mr. and Mrs. Lang moved to Marshalltown in 1890. They were the parents of eight children, five of whom survive Mrs. Lang. They are Sister Generosa, Minneapolis; Mrs. Peter Begley, Toronto, Canada; Mrs. Lyle Collins, Marshalltown, and Matthew Lang and Mrs. Lyle Sargeant, Muscatine. In addition to Mr. Lang and the five children, Mrs. Lang is survived by seven grandchildren and five sisters. The latter are Mrs. Mary Kobbee, Porter, Minn., and Mrs. Emil Seleine, who is seriously ill, Mrs. Teresa Shaffer and Mrs. Bertha Jentzen of Marshalltown. The funeral will be held at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning from St. Mary's Catholic church and burial will be in Riverside. The body will be at the home until the hour of the service.
