She and her twin brother were born Feb. 16, 1923, two of a total of 19 children. Josephine married Charles Albert Bowers on Feb. 10, 1947 and together they raised six sons: Charles Albert Bowers Jr. of Rosenburg, Texas, Ralph David (Tammy) Bowers of Portland, Indiana, Paul Joseph (Glenna) Bowers Sr. of Boston, Massachussets, Donald Eugene (Tammy) Bowers of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Kenneth Lloyd (Marci) Bowers of Aurora, NE and Elwood Robert (Sharon) Bowers of Somerville; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; sisters Laura Evans of Middletown, Lucille Richardson of Oklahoma, Arlene Morris of Middletown, and Ora Jean Moon of Springboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Catherine (Holman) Miller; her loving husband, Charles; five brothers; five sisters; grandson, Paul Bowers Jr.; granddaughter, Mindy Mencia Bowers; daughter-in-law, Alicia Bowers.
Celebration of Life service was held on Monday, April 6, at Tytus Avenue Church of God with Pastor Greg Wallace officiating. Interment followed at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.bakerstevensparramore.com.
