INDEPENDENCE MAN DEAD
Independence Reporter: Alson Fowler was born Jan. 21, 1851, at Martinville (sic), Ind., and died at his home in this city, August 31, 1924, age 75 years, 7 months and 10 days.
The deceased came to Emporia, Kas., with his parents when about four years of age, where he resided until 1900 when he removed to Bartlesville, Okla., remaining there until 1904, in which year he came to Montgomery county where he has since made his home. In 1870 he was united in marriage with Melissa Mound. To this union ten children were born, all of whom survive except Lucy, who died in infancy. The surviving children, Minor D. Eldon, R. Richard, O. Fowler, Mrs. Velva Hopkins, all living in Independence; Mrs. B. F. Dounselor of Dewey, Okla.; W. A. Fowler, of Bartlesville; Mrs. Millie Mercer, of Wichita; Mrs. Ira Reed of Elk City; Mrs. Margaret Dugar, of Lymon, Okla.
