Eddie Hubbard, 90, of Rt. 1,
Swords Creek, died June 25, 1999 in the
Clinch Valley Medical Center in
Richlands.
Born in Russell County, he was a
son of the late Melvin and Clora
Perkins Hubbard.
He had resided n the Swords
Creek area his entire life and was a
retired coal miner. He was a member
of the United Mine Workers of
America Local 7327 at Jewell
Ridge. A member of the Free Will
Baptist Church, he had served the
area for over 40 years as a minister.
In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his first wife,
Viola Dye Hubbard; one son,
Junior Breedlove; four sisters,
Flora Miller, Bertha Baldwin,
Mariah Harmon and Flossie
Horton; five brothers, Troy
Hubbard, Wes Hubbard, Garnett
Hubbard, Robert Hubbard and
Marion Hubbard; and four grandchildren.
Survivors: wife, Lois Null
Hubbard; daughters, Estell Dye,
Trudell Dye, Vernell Dye and
Brenda Dye, all of Swords Creek,
Gaynell Dye of Honaker; sons, Jim
Robinette, Leonard Hubbard, Glen
Hubbard, Ed Hubbard and Dallas
Hubbard, all of Swords Creek;
stepdaughters, Patricia Kilgore of
Kingsport, TN, Cathy Ball of
Richlands; stepson, Bruce Addison
of Meridainville, AL; sister, Molly
Powell of Martinsville; 25 grandchildren;
29 great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren;
four step-grandchildren; and one
step-great-grandchild.
The funeral was conducted June
28 at 2 p.m. in the Honaker
Funeral Home Chapel in Honaker
with Rev. Mike Dye, Rev. Miles
Honaker and Rev. David Perkins
officiating.
Interment followed in Greenhills
