Joseph F. Holt, age 78, of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, March 12, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Oak Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Bro. Frank Holt and Bro. Danny Russell will officiate. Interment will be in Barton Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Holt was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from TVA. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #477, Masonic Lodge #36 (Washington Lodge), and Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jim and Minnie Holt; daughter, Glenda Faye Holt; sisters, Syble Plaxico, Girttrue Ballard, and Doris Rikard; and brothers, Wilson, Dan, James E., J.R., Paul, Johnny, and Bobby Holt.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Faye Holt; sons, Ricky J., David, and Daniel Holt; daughters, Deborah Key and Susan Patterson; brother, Frank Holt; grandchildren, Deyanara, Stanley, Jazzmine, Starla, Lucas, Destiny, Eric, Brandon, Ariel, T.J., Lance, Tiffany, and Corey; great grandchildren, Landon, Stacee, Lilly, Brody, Devon, Dylan, Brady, Sabastian, Jonah, Shyann, and Shaley Brooke.

Mr. Holt was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He was faithful to the Lord. Joe’s family expresses many thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their outstanding and loving care.
