Girttrue Dean Ballard, 64, died April 6, 1987 at Tishomingo County Hospital. Services were at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Ballard of Iuka; three daughters, Betty Mae Harden of Red Bay, Nellie Clay Ballard of Glenview, Ill., and Angie Lavonda Freeman of Rocky Face, Ga.; one son, Loren Elzie Ballard of Zion, Ill.; two sisters, Sybil Plaxico of Memphis, Tenn. and Doris Rickard of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; five brothers, Dan Holt of Etowaha, Tenn., Joe Holt of Pride, Ala., and Paul Holt, Frank Holt and Johnny Holt, all of Tuscumbia, Ala.; nine grandchildren.
