Mrs. Andreas Peterson [Petersen], 65 years of age, living with her son, three miles west of town, has more than her share of misfortunes in her declining years. Last winter one of her great toes began to ulcerate and soon the bone had to be removed from it. When the wound was just nicely healing she was attacked with pneumonia. The toe sloughed farther back and will have to be amputated, Dr. F. A. Long is her attending physician.

Mrs. Andreas Petersen, age, 68, living 4 miles south with her son, August Petersen, had her left leg amputated about 3 inches above the ankle Monday for gangrene. About a year ago she lost the large toe of the other foot, by the same disease, but since then, until 3 weeks ago, she was quite well, & expressed herself as being better than she had been for years. Her recovery is doubtful.
