LaVerna Reeg
GENOA -- LaVerna Reeg, 90, of Genoa died Friday at the Genoa Community Hospital.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa with Rev. Thomas Holcombe officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hasch-Patrick Funeral Chapel and noon to service time at the church.

Mrs. Reeg was born Nov. 2, 1897 in Platte County, the daughter of William and Mathilda (Born) Thomazin. She attended school in rural Platte County and graduated from Lindsay public schools. She attended school one year at Lutheran Trinity in Madison and one year at John's Lutheran. She was confirmed in 1911. Mrs. Reeg attended Wesleyan University in Lincoln. She married John Reeg July 13, 1923 In Madison. They farmed in the Madison area, Holyoke, Colo., area and south of Lindsay. Mrs. Reeg taught school in Madison County for two years and Platte County for six years. She was a member of West Hill Extension Club, past member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsay and a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa.

Surviving are three sons, Kenneth, Keith and Duane, all of Genoa; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962, one infant son, Edgar, four brothers and one sister.
