Christian Kurtz, 50, residing on Sixth Street near Harriet, in Cincinnati, dropped dead at his furnace yesterday at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Chatterton, while on his way for a drink, remarked to Mr. Murtz that it was pretty warm, to which the latter smilingly assented. Chatterton hardly had his back turned when he heard a fall, and later he saw Kurtz lying prostate on the floor. Kurtz had been employed as blacksmith in the C.S. Railway shops for the past four years. Coroner Wilson viewed the remains and decided that heart failure was the cause of his death.
