Edith M. Wright
Edith ("Edie") M. Wright, 84, received her eternal reward on November 1, 2014.
Even in the midst of her long journey with dementia, she continued to bring great joy and laughter to all who loved and cared for her.
Edie was born to Wilma and Alfred G. McCloy on September 29, 1930 in Doddridge County, W.Va. She married the love of her life, Louis Ray Wright, on September 9,1956 in Pullman, W.Va. They eventually moved to Akron, Ohio where they raised their family.
Edie had many joys in life, some of which included watching soap operas, cooking holiday meals with her sister, Ada, and caring for her cats. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her sisters and brothers in West Virginia. She spent so much time there, her brother-in-law, Allen, often joked about claiming her as a dependent on his tax return. At Medina Meadows Nursing Facility, her home for the past several years, she was known for her love of hot chocolate and for her hours of joyful singing.
In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by her sisters Elfreda Ellis and LouVonnia Prunty; brothers, Johnny McCloy, Arlie McCloy, and Alfred McCloy, Sr.
She is survived by sons, Al Wright, Jimmy Wright; and daughter, Debbie Wright; sisters, Ada Bills, Linda Kester (Frank), and Wendy Steele; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. S.K. Jain and all of the staff and residents at Medina Meadows Nursing Centre for their loving and compassionate care of Edie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Hilary Parish Foundation.
Calling Hours 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ciriello & Carr Fairlawn Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Hilary Parish. Further Calling Hours and Memorial Service Saturday, November 8th in Morgantown, W.Va.
