He worked in the timber industry at various sawmills and later began working for State Construction of Beckley, WV as a heavy equipment operator. He was noted as being one of the best dozer operators in the state and could operate any kind of heavy equipment they made. He greatly enjoyed hunting & fishing, camping, and spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his 3 children, Regina Duong, Jacksonville, FL; Steve McCloy, Lancaster, OH; Alfred Junior McCloy, II "JR" of Harrisville, WV; grandchildren, Bradley, Staci, Cassandra, Chelsi, Brian, & Benjamin; great grandchildren, Morgan, Jacelynn, & Jeremiah; sisters, Edith Wright, Medina, OH; Ada Bills, Belmont, WV; Linda Kester, St. Marys, WV; and Wendy Steele, Pennsboro, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Alfred Paul; daughter, Dana; sisters, Elfreda Ellis & LouVonnia Prunty; brothers, Johnny & Arlie McCloy, Sr., and half brothers, William & Jackie Jones. Funeral services will be 1pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the funeral home. In accordance to Wimpy's wishes, he will be cremated following the funeral service and buried on the family plot in the Pullman Cemetery at a later date.
