Asher P. Bevans son of Robert & Hannah Bevans

b. February 5, 1820, Highland co., Ohio. Came with the family to Peoria co., Illinois in 1838. m. in Knox co., Illinois, May 31, 1842, (Book 1 pg 39) Anne Eliza Stafford, b. January 29, 1825, Delaware. He was a farmer (1000), living at Elmwood Twp., Peoria co., Illinois in 1850. In September of 1854 the family migrated from Elmwood, Illinois to Morning Sun, Louisa co., Iowa. In the winter of 1880 they moved to a farm near Osceola, Clarke co., Iowa where they remained the rest of their lives. Asher P. d. March 2, 1902, ae 82 years & 25 days & Anne Eliza d. March 29, 1905, ae, 80 years, 6 months & 4 days - Burial was in the Maple Hill cemetery, Osceola, Clarke co., Iowa.

Osceola Sentence - March, 1902 -
Father Bevans died at his home seven miles northeast of Osceola, Sunday, March 2nd, aged eighty-two years and twenty five days. The funeral was held at his late home Monday, in the presence of a large congregaton of friends and neighbors. Rev. J. C. Porter conducted the services. The body was interred in the Osceola cemetery. Mr. Bevans was born in Highland co., Ohio, February 5, 1820.
