Together they moved to Gardnerville where Peter raised sheep. Four children were born to the Bordas: Lucile Marie, William Pierre, Marie Ann, and Anita Louise.
Peter was a member of Reno Lodge BPOE and Carson City Aerie FOE. He was killed in a car accident in Reno, Nevada and was buried in St. Thomas Cemetery, later moved to Our Mother of Sorrows when St. Thomas was shut down.
Besides his wife and children, Peter was survived by four brothers and three sisters: William, Bertram, Raymond and Julius Borda, Mrs. Mary Uhalde, Mrs. Annie Antchano, and Mrs. Rosalie Antehordoqui.
