Donna J. Bruns, 74, of Eldon, Missouri passed away December 17, 2014 in her son’s home surrounded by people she loved. She left this world with the same strength, dignity and grace in which she lived her life. On February 15, 1940 she was born in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of the late Everett and Edna Christina Sophia (Ficken) Martin. On April 9, 1960 at the Campbranch Baptist Church in Greenridge, Missouri she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Bruns who survives of the home. Other survivors, Daughter, Kendra Harvey of Phoenix, AZ Sons, Mitchell Bruns of Sunrise Beach, MO; Devin Bruns (Sheila Jungmeyer) of Lee’s Summit, MO Seven Grandchildren Brother, Charles Martin (Marge) of Cherry Hill, NJ Sisters, Ruth Kerr of Sedalia, MO; Janice Henson (Steve) of Sedalia, MO One son, Kenneth Lee “Chip” Bruns, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Donna was co-owner and operator of Bruns Service Center of Eldon, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO where she taught Sunday school and served on many committees. Donna was very active in the Girl Scouts and served many years volunteering her time to the Eldon Food Pantry. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service immediately to follow at 10:30 AM with Rev. David White & Rev. Tony English officiating. Interment will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO or the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in her name. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
