From "Onondaga's Centennial" edited by Dwight H. Bruce and published in 1896:

"Abbott, Addison, Otisco, was born in Otisco, Sept. 11, 1852, a son of Warner and Sophia (Eastman) Abbott, both natives of Connecticut. The paternal grandparents were Amos and Sally (Gregg) Abbott, who came from Connecticut and settled on the farm of our subject. ... Our subject was reared on the farm and attended school at Onondaga Academy. He has always followed farming, having a place of 171 acres of fine land. In 1875 he married Sara M., daughter of Leroy and Patience (Case) King, farmers of Otisco, now residents of Onondaga. ... Mrs. Abbott's grandfather, Rufus Case, was one of the first settlers of the town. ... In 1819 he came to Otisco and settled on the farm adjoining Mr. Abbott's, where he lived to the advanced age 98 years." (Vol. II Part III, p.220)

From a newspaper article of 1901 in a book kept by Sarah King Abbott:

"Case. Feb. 21. - Addison Abbott died at his home here last Sunday morning after an illness of seven weeks, with typhoid fever. The deceased was forty eight years of age. Beside a widow, six sons, Milton, Frank, Ethelbert, Leon, Howard and Clifford, and two daughters, Renette and Elva, survive him. Mr. Abbott was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor. His loss will be mourned by many friends. The funeral was held at the Methodist church at one o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, interment in Maple Grove cemetery. Mr. Abbott was a life-long resident of this neighborhood. His father, Colonel Abbott, was one of the first settlers here. The deceased had but recently been awarded the contract for carrying the mail between this place and Tully."
