Elbert A. Midkiff, 53, of Spring Hill, an automotive mechanic, died yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness. The body is at Degnan Funeral Home.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clara Midkiff; a stepson, Joe Blankenship of Engleside; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Marie Kiser and Mrs. Bernice Kiser of Red House, Mrs. Icie Shreve of Pine Grove and Mrs. Nellie Skeens of Engleside; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Midkiff of Alum Creek; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Dean and Mrs. Gretchen Wiseman of Charleston, Mrs. Ithel Smith and Mrs. Lucille Thomas of Columbus, a brother, Gilmer of Barboursville; 24 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
