Funeral services for Roger Lee Tanner, Sr., 73, of 3436 Danville Road who died unexpectingly at 11:45 p.m. Friday will be held at 3 p.m. today at Elliot & Sons Chapel with the Rev. E. Levelle Waters officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born in Sandersville, Ga. Mr. Tanner had lived in Augusta
for 10 years. He was retired and a World War I Veteran.
Survivors include his widow Mrs. Mattie Sue Carr Tanner of Augusta; one son Roger Lee Tanner, Jr., Augusta; two daughters Martha Marchman of Augusta, and Mrs. Dorothy Mills Milledgeville; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five brothers, Marshall Tanner, Jacksonville, Florida, Willie Tanner and Hubert Tanner, both of Sandersville, Earl Tanner of New Ellenton S.C., and J. Frank Tanner, Jr., Macon; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Garner, Sandersville, Mrs. Mildred Kent, Appling and Mrs. Carolyn Tanner of Thomasville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Lewis, Pat Johnson, John Woods, W.C. Tanner, Alex Tanner, Lamar Tanner, J.C. Tanner and Curtis Tanner.
