Kenneth R. Barden, age 83, died November 25, 2014 at the Portage County Health Care Center.

Kenneth was born February 22, 1931 to the late Wayne and Roweina (Bousier) Barden in Amherst, WI. He grew up there, attended the local grade school, and graduated from P.J. Jacob High School in 1949.

He worked for Obriens Oil Company and retired from the Cenex Service Station.

Kenneth was inducted into the U.S. Army on January of 1952. He served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on January of 1954. …Kenneth recently went on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington D.C. on May 19, 2014.

On March 22, 1952, he married Roselyn Fletcher at the Buena Vista Parsonage.

Kenneth was a people person. He enjoyed the company of others, especially his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking, fishing, exercise, playing Bingo, and cheering on the Packers.

Survivors included he beloved wife, Roselyn; children, Ronald of Stevens Point, Dennis (Cindy) of Stevens Point, Brian of Almond, Tod (Kimberly) of Plover, Darlene (Randy) Yonke of Almond, Kip (Kimberlin) of Pardeeville; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Fletcher of Plover, Anita Berry of Plover, Ramona Kolosso of Manawa, Judy (Marvin) Fletcher of Plover; and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held 3:30 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. David E. Ficken officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow the funeral in Liberty Corners Cemetery.
