Norma J. Fletcher, 76, of 3269 Village Lane in Plover, passed away Aug. 25, 2008, at the Iola Living Assistance Center, after a long battle with cancer.
A celebration of life service for Norma will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Plover-Shuda Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Liberty Corners Cemetery in the town of Buena Vista.
Normal was born June 6, 1932, in Stevens Point the daughter of Wayne and Rowena (Boursier) Barden. She attended school at Liberty Corners and grew up in the Buena Vista area. She married Lloyd Fletcher on October 14, 1950, at Buena Vista Methodist Church. The couple settled at 7118 Cty JJ. Norma worked as a bartender for 25 years at the Moore Barn. She also owned and operated Fletchers Last Draw on Highway B for five years until retirement. She enjoyed listening to the Sunday morning polka shows on the radio, gambling, playing cards, sharing jokes and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons, Gary (Mary) Fletcher, Plover, Allan (Connie) Fletcher, Amherst, Randy (Karen) Fletcher, Plover; 10 grandchildren, Cassie, Tony, Brad, Ashley, Melissa, Alan Jr., Jeff, Travis, Tara and Ron; and 12 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Bonnie Fletcher, Judy (Marvin) Fletcher, Anita Berry, Mona (Tom) Kolosso, Charlotte (Gaylord) Fletcher, Beverly (Walter) Zelewski; one brother, Kenny (Roslyn) Barden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd in 2003; her sister Betty; and two brothers, Dwaine and Arrland.
