WISE, Va. Linda Carol Barnette, 68, entered into rest on Saturday (April 2, 2011) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was a member of the Temple of Faith in Norton, Va, and was an employee of Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va. for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and Bessie Hubbard Sturgill.
Surviving are two daughters, Pennie Carol Brock and husband, Tim of Hannahan, S.C. and Cindie Ann Wiles and husband, Russel of Norton, Va.; a son, Mickey Edward Barnette of Wise, Va.; one special daughter-in-law, Lisa M. Barnette of Wise, Va.; four grandchildren, Jacob Brock, Daniel Brock, Matthew Barnette and Audrey Barnette; two sisters, Wilma Holmes of Norton, Va. and Denita Boggs of Morristown, Tenn.; three brothers, Gary Sturgill, Darrell Sturgill and Raymond Sturgill, all of Norton; eight nieces; three nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Greg Bowman officiating.
Committal services and entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Big Stone Gap, Va.
