Charles R. Baier, 81, of 312 W. Ninth Ave., retired Vocational School instructor, died unexpectedly at his home at 6:45 p.m., Monday. Born May 22, 1884, in Oshkosh, he was the son of the late Adolph and Marie Baier.
He was married April 18, 1908, to Miss Anna Wolff in St. Vincent Catholic Church where he was a member at the time of his death. For more than 50 years, he was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court 510. Mr. Baier retired in 1956 from the Oshkosh Vocational School where he had been a woodworking teacher for more than 38 years.
Surviving are his widow; a son, Karl W. Baier; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Bauer, Miss Agnes Baier, and Miss Mary Baier; two grandchildren and one great grandchild, all of Oshkosh.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8.30 a.m. at Marquardt Funeral Home and at 9 a.m at St. Vincent Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Louis M. Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
