Bessie, was born July 21, 1921, at Carnegie, OK, to J.B. and Clementine Marshall Willis, and departed this life March 16, 2006, at Meadowlake Estates Nursing Home at the age of 84. She accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1931 at the age of 10. She was married to Walter William Baker, January 12, 1938, at Anadarko, Oklahoma. They farmed northwest of Carnegie until 1967, then moved into town. Her husband passed away October 16, 1976. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1982. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Survivors are two sons, Bobby Baker and wife, Marcia of Chickasha, OK and Kenneth Baker and wife, DeDe of Oklahoma City; two daughters, JoAnn Weavel of Oklahoma City and Darlene McKay and husband, Jack of Anadarko, OK; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; one sister, Irene Scott of Binger, OK; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, one son, Willie Baker, seven brothers, four sisters, and son-in-law, Roy Weavel. Services were held Alfalfa Baptist Church, 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 18, Alfalfa, OK, officiated by Rev. Bill Chevront, interment Alfalfa Cemetery. Directed by Turner Funeral Home, Binger, OK.
