Willis Rites Held Here
Funeral services for George B. Willis, 81, of Carnegie, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Carnegie. He died Tuesday in the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital.
The Rev. Gerald Peters, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in the Alfalfa Cemetery under the direction of Pitcher Funeral Home.
A retired farmer, Willis was born Sept. 4, 1896 in Arkansas. He moved to Oklahoma from Arkansas when he was two-years-old and had lived here since.
Willis and the former Dora Turney were married in October 1914. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carnegie.
Survivors include his widow of the home; a son, Alvin of Carnegie; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Giles of Carnegie; four sisters, Mrs. Margie Keaster of Armona, Calif., Mrs. Grace Bettencourt of Visalia, Calif., Mrs. Irene Scott of Binger and Mrs. Bessie Baker of Carnegie; four brothers, Sterman of Escondido, Calif., Scott of Visalia, Calif., and Price and Thomas of Anadarko; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
