Brigham City - Sylvia Ann Johnson, 75, died on Friday, January 8, 1999 in the Brigham City Hospital.

She was born on June 24, 1923 a daughter of James Leo and Blanch Vilate Roberts Alvey.

Sylvia married Waldo Sandberg on Jun 24, 1940 in Richfield, Utah, They later divorced. She married Elwood Johnson on Jun 5, 1964 in Elko, Nevada. He died June 29, 1988.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

Sylvia had a very witty sense of humor and was loved by everyone she came in contact with.

She was a member of the Eagles for 34 years.

Sylvia worked as cook and waitress at Bert's Cafe, Jessie's Cafe and Earls' Cafe.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters. Steven Sandberg, Brigham City, Ut; Stanley Sandberg (Glenda), Cocoa Beach, Fl.; Robert Johnson, Logan, Ut; Ann Marie Ruttenbur, Phoenix, Az.; Leigh Clark, Ogden, Ut; and Christine Cavanaugh, Hollywood, Ca; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother; Lavar Mikesell, Richfield, Ut; one sister; Myrle Frye, Richfield; and one sister-in-law, Ida Mikesell, Layton, Ut.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
