DANIEL L. BROWN A lifelong resident of Morrisons Cove, died at his home on South Market Street, Martinsburg, this morning at 4:30 o'clock, death being attributed to complications. He had been in failing health for almost a year and for the last two months was in a serious condition, being unable to lie down.
He was born on his father's farm one half mile south of Martinsburg on Dec. 2, 1854, the son of Daniel and Mrs. Susan Brown, both now deceased.
He resided in the cove all his life, following farming until twenty-three years ago when be took up his residence in Martinsburg and was caretaker of the Fairview cemetery for a number of years.
On Oct. 12, 1881 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Ellen Skyles, who survives, with two sons and two daughters, William P. Brown of Indiana, Pa., James E. Brown of Martinsburg and Mrs. Mollie S. Baker of Roaring Spring and Mrs. Anna May Lingenfelter of Hollidaysburg, and by one brother, Jerre Brown of Roswell, N. M., and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Law of Curryville and Mrs. Susan Burket of Martinsburg. He was a member of St Matthew's Lutheran church of Martinsburg.
