Goodwin Services Are Held at Alfalfa Friday Afternoon (Carnegie Herald)
Funeral services for Oscar B. Goodwin were held at 3 p.m. Friday in the highschool auditorium at Alfalfa with Rev.R.E. Harrison preaching the funeral sermon. Burial was in the Alfalfa cemetery. Bearers were jack Wesnidge, Fred Reinking, harry power, Spalding Boyette and Ed Prather.

Mr. Goodwin died June 20 in an Elk City hospital after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Upsher county, W. Va., Nov 14, 1868. He was married to Nettie B. Taylor Oct 28, 1894, in West Virginia. They moved with their family to a farm northwest of Alfalfa at the opening of the country in 1901 and have resided there since. He united with the Methodist church at the age of 14 and was a member of the I.O.O.F. for many years.

Mrs. Goodwin died in 1918. He was married to Miss Dora S. Stephenson Dec. 24, 1924.

Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Dora Goodwin; four daughters, Mrs. Madge Repp and Mrs. Merle Wildman, Fort Cobb; Mrs. Mabel Robertson, Carnegie, and Mrs. Marguerite Inglis, Norman; four sons, Virgil of Alfalfa, Dane of Fort Cobb, Orval of Carnegie and Stephen of the home; one brother, John H. Goodwin, Belington, W.Va, and 30 grandchildren.

Attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. R.S. Hedgecock, Marshall; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Irion, Woodward; Mr. and Mrs. Si Thorpe, Camargo; Mr and Mrs Boyd Nay and Leon Nay, Oklahoma City; Mrs Inglis and Herman Hoover, naval base, Norman and Mrs. Reta Earnest, Wichita, Kans.O.B.
