Betty Billett Stout, 81, entered into rest on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 2:20 a.m., at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte, where she had been a resident since 2002. Born Betty Louella Kurtz on May 17, 1924, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Clinton Davidson and Anna (Merriman) Kurtz. She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School. On Oct. 27, 1945, she married Richard O. Billett, who preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1971. On Aug. 8, 1975, she married George F. Stout, who also preceded her in death on June 7, 1990. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 245, and the VFW of Pine Grove Mills Post No. 5625. Mrs. Stout enjoyed visiting her grandchildren, traveling, and her bird companion, "Petey Dink". Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Hardiman, of OR; granddaughters, Catherine Foster, of CA, Tamara Billett and Lauren Nearhood, of Port Matilda; daughter-in-law, Peggy and her husband, Bill Nearhood, of Port Matilda; four great-grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Jeffrey and Trevor, of CA. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Jean Fyock, of Huntingdon and Nancy Jo Kline, of North Carolina. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Warren Billett and Thomas Allen Billett, and a brother, Clinton D. Kurtz. Memorial service at the chapel in the mausoleum at Centre County Memorial Park, State College, Monday, March 13, Chaplins Charles and Patricia Niedermyer officiating.
