Henson, Cpl. Dennis M.

Age 21, of 192 Center St., Waverly, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, December 21, 1971. He was born in Waverly on Jan. 22, 1950.

Dennis graduated from the Don W. McClelland Waverly Central High School in 1968 and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served five months in the Mediterranean and one year in Okinawa. He was presently serving at Camp Lejeune, N.C. in H Company, Second Battalion, Second Marine Division and was home on Christmas leave.

Surviving are his parents, Delbert and Leona Simons Henson; five brothers: Michael, a student at Rochester Institute of Technology, Donald, Paul, Keith and Glenn all at home; five sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Thompson of Old Bridge, N. J., Robin, Terri, Kim and Janet all at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Henson Sr. of Owego; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Simons of Ithaca; paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Grace Henson of Newark Valley; three nieces; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the Russell Funeral Home, 462 Fulton St., Waverly, Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral and committal services will b held at the funeral home Friday at 2 o'clock with Rev. Robert E. Grover, pastor of the Waverly United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Waverly at a later date.
